Tabard RFC
Hammersmith & Fulham RFC

Tabard 17 Hammersmith and Fulham 20

This game was rearranged after the original fixture was postponed due to snow delivered by the Beast from the East and it was somewhat ironic that this game went ahead only after volunteers cleared the pitch of an overnight covering of snow and was played out in sub-zero temperatures.
After a great start, Tabard conceded a softish Try after 10 mins, with the Hammersmith & Fulham Winger going over in the Corner – not converted 0-5. Some great Forward pressure after 15 mins from Tabs, Harry Gough dived over for an un converted try 5-5. After 20 mins a superb Try from Teddy Gough with lots of the players involved – converted by Reilly 12-5. 25 mins Tabard lost the ball in Midfield whilst on Top again and a breakaway Try from Hammersmith which was converted 12-12. 37 mins a scrum against the head for Tabard and the forwards drove and were awarded a Penalty but missed by Reilly so 12-12 at Half time. A great Half by Tabard and were unlucky not to be winning.
Another great start by Tabard saw them nearly score in the Corner, got a scrum and rather than keeping ball in there as they were going forward, Priscott threw to Reilly who knocked on and Hammersmith Cleared, another missed opportunity (the story of the day). After 50 mins bad defence from Tabard let the Hammersmith Centre score but missed an easyish Kick 12-17. 60 mins Reilly off with an Ankle injury meant Tabard had an uphill Task when Hammersmith got a penalty after 70 mins for Tabard being offside, which was kicked 12-20. 75 mins Tabard’s Harry Smith Concussed and carried off eventually, play restarted on Bottom Pitch and after 79 mins Alex Milligan scored somewhat controversially in the corner , no kick was taken as it was all over 17-20 loss to Tabard. Real shame because the commitment was superb.
