ALL Schools and School of Hard Knocks Programmes

Following a meeting at Hertswood Academy in early July I can now confirm that both the RFU All Schools and SOHK programmes are now firmly in the school timetable for academic year 2018/19 starting September 3rd.

Cam is fully rostered in the timetable that has been drawn up between the RFU CRC, Harry Harrison, and the school and I am delighted to Inform you that Cam will be fully involved in the coaching programme representing Tabard RFC.

Also, as part of the All Schools programme it has been agreed with the school/RFU/Tabard RFC that we will run a rugby after schools club every Wednesday between 15:30 and 16:30 at Cobden Hill starting September 19th.

The SOHK programme kicks off on September 12th starting at the school from around 10:00 & then at Cobden Hill from 12:30 onwards and then at the same time every Wednesday thereafter. SOHK students will also join the after schools club.

It would be helpful if age group coaches could participate in the after schools club from time to time as I think it will provide fertile recruitment ground for our junior section.

Just a reminder that the RFU All Schools programme covers U12-U15 boys and SOHK is focused on U14 only.

To give these programmes appropriate publicity I am planning a press release during second half of August involving SOHK, RFU, HBC, local councillors, Hertswood Academy and of  course Tabard RFC. Also to support and truly launch these initiatives within the club there will be a Sporting Dinner at Cobden Hill on the evening of Friday, October 5th. More to follow on this.

Finally, so that we can transport participating  students from Hertswood Academy to Cobden Hill I will require access to the club minibus on Wednesdays from midday onwards.

I will keep all informed as we move forward.

President, Tabard RFC
