Women’s Rugby is still one of the fastest growing sports in the UK, with England Women having played in the last 5 World Cup Finals, this trend is set to continue. We are keen to both encourage new players and bring experienced players back to the game.
You don't have to be a star player to join, you don't even have to have picked up a rugby ball - everyone is welcome! Tabard Women is a club open to all - no matter your experience, fitness or shape. We are passionate about developing those who are eager to learn a new game and challenging those who are already experienced players. We are interested to hear from anyone who wants to GIVE RUGBY A TRY!
Training is on Wednesdays from 7.30 to 9pm. With matches taking place on a Sunday Afternoons, and the occasional Saturday game or social!
The team this season will be coached by Jeremy Walmsley – he is currently Head of Rugby at a local school. He is a qualified coach and will ensure we have safe and exciting sessions. These include all aspects of rugby; handling, tackling, tactics, fitness and most of all FUN – those already playing can’t stop talking about how they are loving the sessions.
We don't just play rugby either, there is a lot more for new players to become involved in. We are a friendly side who socialise regularly and are involved across all the sections of the club. In between matches and training we make time for socials throughout the year - perfect after a hard game when we need to relax. We have an annual rugby tour, formal and informal socials, drinking and non-drinking socials so there is always something for everyone. Tabard is a friendly family orientated club where all players and non-playing members support and encourage all teams from minis and juniors to the senior men and women.
