Latest News - Tabard win Saracens trophy.

On Friday evening a Tabard Over45s Touch team won the much coveted “Saracens Strictly Social” Over45s tournament held at Mill Hill. The team was primarily made up of players from the Tabard Masters Touch group, supplemented with 3 players from OAs to cover for unavailable players. We joined Saracens, Royston and a Bishops Stortford team (supported by a couple of Fullers players to make up their numbers).
Although a social evening with food and the Mill Hill RFC bar open, there were also bragging rights and a small trophy at stake.
The evening was a Round Robin format and the games were 2 halves of 10 minutes (plenty of time for those of us 15, 20, or even more years beyond the qualifying criteria!).
Tabard’s results were:
Tabard 3 – 1 Stortford
Tabard 2 – 1 Royston
Tabard 3 – 2 Sarries
Team was Nik, John S (for 60secs before retiring hurt!), John H, Liam, Tudor and Howard; with thanks to Tom, Carl & Rob from OAs Masters Touch.
Masters (Over35s) Touch Rugby is played by parents and coaches from the junior section, ex-players and current players (ladies & mens), as well as some who had never played rugby before starting. We play on a Thursday evening between 7:30pm and 9pm and the evening usually consists of a warm up, some skills drills and a game or two. We are of all ages - from 35 to 60+ and play in a league in the Spring and Autumn.

We are looking to increase the number of players and so are looking for more players to join us on a Thursday night. If you think you might enjoy playing, please join us one Thursday.
