Tabard Junior Rugby – under 5 to U18.
Tabard run rugby training and fixtures for all children up to the age of 18 when they become eligible to join the senior teams. Contact rugby, both training and in games, begins at the Under 9 age group.
Training and fixtures are primarily on Sunday mornings starting at 10.00 am with some additional training sessions on weekday evenings for U13 and above age groups.
All children are welcome and anyone wishing to try rugby for the first time should come along any Sunday morning during the season and speak with one of our coaches/managers. Tabard offers three “taster sessions” for Sunday mornings before the need to purchase any membership. We do however need new starters to enter both the parent's and the child's details on the Club’s database before joining any training session so that we have full contact details and information about any relevant medical conditions. If you wish you can do this online prior to attending as this does assist us by reducing our admin burden. This does require that a parent first enters their own details and then adds those of their child. These records do not require any financial information. Once the taster sessions are complete we do require that an annual youth membership is purchased if the child wishes to continue at Tabard.
1.INITIAL SET UP OF PARENTS AND CHILDREN
Detailed instructions on how to set up these records and register your child are provided on the RFU’s Support website and the links to these are shown below.
1.1.Set up parent’s account – HERE
This provides a detailed explanation of the process together with screenshots and a video following the process. N.B. Please ensure you “link” your account to Tabard.
Parents may, if they wish, purchase a Tabard Community membership but this is not mandatory (Membership can be purchased via the “Dashboard” on your GMS account in the “My organisations” panel.)
1.2.Add child/children’s account – HERE
This provides a detailed explanation of the process and includes screenshots. Children added in this fashion will automatically be linked to Tabard but will not yet be “Registered” (An RFU requirement for any child who plays at Tabard) and will not yet be classified as a Tabard member (Requires the purchase of a Youth membership).
1.3.Register each child to play at Tabard – HERE
This provides a detailed explanation of the process with screenshots together with a short video showing the process when using a smartphone.
N.B. It is critical that the final SAVE is performed and that you receive the confirmation that registration is complete.
2.ANNUAL RE-REGISTRATION OF PLAYERS – HERE
This is a very simple process requiring just a few clicks to confirm that the child’s details are unchanged. The guide provides a detailed explanation of the process with screenshots together with a short video showing the process when using a smartphone.
Registration is an annual process due to GDPR regulations which require personal information to be confirmed on an annual basis. On 1st July each year all children will be de-registered from Tabard RFC and the parent will then be asked to re-register their children in order that they can play in the new season which starts 1 September each year. Immediately following this de-registration parents will be notified by email and invited to renew their child’s registration for the new season.
3.PURCHASE YOUTH MEMBERSHIP (Annual process)
Once the three taster sessions have been enjoyed all children must have a youth membership to train or play at Tabard and this can be purchased online by following the guide HERE.
More information about Mini/Junior rugby at Tabard can be obtained from the Chairman of the Junior rugby section or from any of the coaches/managers within the age groups (See team/roles under the "Teams" tab).
