The School of Hard Knocks (SOHK) fund raising dinner held on Friday, 5 October and hosted by our President was a great success. The club made a profit of £4,000 and a generous donation of half of this amount was made to the SOHK charity. Russ Williams, stand up comedian and auctioneer, provided excellent entertainment for the evening with no holds barred.

Along with local grants, other funding sources and a number of further individual, benevolent donations, sufficient money (£12,000) has now been raised, under the banner of Tabard RFC, to support SOHK programme at Hertswood Academy for a full year. Tabard RFC will continue to work with SOHK as their charity of choice with the objective of engaging Hertswood Academy students for a minimum of three years. The ultimate aim is to eventually have the programme embedded into the overall school curriculum and extend it to other local schools.

The club intends to make this an annual event so keep an eye out for forthcoming announcements in the new year.
